Description

In Staxel, everything is customizable! Build block by block from the ground up - whether it’s your own farmhouse or a redesign of the village shop to fit your desired aesthetic. Outside the village there’s a whole world out there to explore, with fish to catch, bugs to hunt, and otherworldly realms to discover.

History

Staxel began development in 2014 after Bart van der Werf departed from his role as a programmer on Starbound with Chucklefish. Staxel started as a two-man team, with Bart as lead developer and Conor Goodman in charge of art direction. Along the way the team expanded to nine talented individuals. You can read more about them below. Staxel was inspired by town-life classics such as Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. These influences, combined with a healthy dose of creative vision, helped shape Staxel’s design. Staxel released in Early Access on Steam on January 23rd of 2018, and got a full release on PC on April 11th of 2019. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 23rd of 2021.
